L'egance Life
Last updated: 8 October 2026
L'egance Life is a private life dashboard made by Liz Basson. It has a desktop app for Windows and a companion app for Android. You use it to plan and record goals, habits, meals, a shopping list, books, a job search, health records and a cycle log.
This policy explains what data the app holds, where the data stays, and how the app uses data from your Google account.
The Short Version
- Your data stays on your own devices. There is no L'egance Life account and no L'egance Life server.
- Liz Basson does not receive, see or store your data.
- The app has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
- The app connects to Google only if you connect your Google Calendar.
Data That You Enter
The app stores what you enter in a database on your computer. The desktop app encrypts that database and its backups. Windows keeps the encryption key for your Windows account.
Photos that you add are stored as files in the data folder of the app on your computer. They are not part of the encrypted database.
The Android app keeps its own encrypted database on the phone. It opens only after the fingerprint or face unlock of the phone. Android backups of the app are turned off.
Google Calendar Data
The Google Calendar connection is optional. If you connect it, the app asks Google for one permission: to view and edit events on your calendars (the calendar.events scope).
The app uses that permission for two features:
- It reads the events of your main calendar for the next seven days and displays them in the week overview of the dashboard.
- It adds an event to your main calendar when you plan a date in the app and press the button that sends it to Google Calendar.
The app does not change or delete events that already exist on your calendar.
How the App Stores Google Data
- The sign-in tokens from Google are stored in the encrypted database on your computer. The app uses them to talk to Google Calendar from your computer.
- Calendar events are held in the memory of the app for up to five minutes, so that the dashboard loads quickly. The app does not save them to the database.
- For each event that the app adds, it stores the identifier of that event, so that it does not add the same event twice.
- Calendar events are not sent to the Android app.
How the App Shares Google Data
The app does not share Google user data with anyone. Requests go directly from your computer to Google. Google user data is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy (opens in a new tab), including the Limited Use requirements.
How to Remove the Connection
Open Settings in the desktop app and choose Disconnect Google Calendar. The app then deletes the sign-in tokens. The events on your calendar stay. You can also remove the access of the app in the third party access settings of your Google account.
Sync Between Your Computer and Your Phone
If you pair the Android app with the desktop app, the two exchange your shopping list, your habits and your cycle log. The exchange happens directly between the two devices on your own Wi-Fi network. Each message is encrypted with a key that only your two devices hold. No server sits in between.
Other Connections to the Internet
When you give the app a link to a job advert or to a product page, the app fetches that page to read its details. The site behind the link then sees a request from your computer, as it does when you open the link in a browser. The app sends none of your data with that request.
How Long the Data Stays
Your data stays on your devices until you remove it. You can delete single records in the app. To remove everything, uninstall the app and delete its data folder on the computer, and uninstall the app on the phone.
Changes to This Policy
If the app changes how it handles data, this page changes too, and the date at the top shows the latest update.
