Regional Tourism
The
Challenge
The project had tight deadlines and required balancing multiple priorities: presenting diverse tourism information clearly, supporting business listings and event submissions, maintaining accessibility standards, and ensuring performance and responsiveness across all devices.
The
Solution
Collaborating closely with the Boleyn Media Group's design and project management team, I led the full-stack development of a regional tourism website using WordPress, Elementor, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for flexible content management. The site includes dynamic business and event listings, a stakeholder portal, activity and itinerary listings, accommodation listings, a blog, an event calendar, and an organized media library for easy updates. Designed with a responsive interface optimized for all devices, and built with performance, accessibility, and scalability in mind, the platform delivers fast load times, clear navigation, and a polished, brand-aligned experience that supports the client’s goals and enhances visitor engagement. The
Result
The new tourism website improved both visitor engagement and administrative efficiency. Users can easily explore businesses, events, and attractions, while staff can quickly update listings and media. Performance optimizations and responsive design ensure a smooth experience across devices, and accessibility improvements make the site inclusive. The scalable architecture supports future growth and positions the organization for ongoing digital success.
