Guttenberg Blocks | Web Development
Business Advisory Services
The
Challenge
An M&A advisory firm needed a new website built from the ground up, with a design that called for custom shapes and animation work to hit the intended look, not just off-the-shelf block layouts, so the team building out the pages and content needed a solid set of blocks to work from. Domain and DNS setup had to account for the client holding several similar registered domains. Early in the build, most site pages didn't exist yet, so the site needed a navigation approach that wouldn't break before those pages were ready. The build also called for a bespoke hero background video and a carousel/subservice display system that varied by page, plus a launch that ran into an unrelated hosting-side error mid-go-live.
The
Solution
I developed the custom Gutenberg blocks used across the site including the shapes and animation work needed to bring the design to life which the team then used to build out the site's pages and content. I designed the display logic for the carousel/subservice module, showing only parent category elements on some pages, page-specific subservices on others. I ran multiple rounds of development tickets across several weeks, coordinating design sign-off and priorities with the team.
The
Result
The site launched successfully with custom blocks, animations, video, carousel logic, and all working as planned.
